The course is known for its back 9 terrain, which is laid out like you’re in the mountains. The front 9 is less dramatic. It’s atypical of this part of NC to have very dramatic elevation changes on a course. There’s a lot of danger out there on this course, golf-wise; it can lull you into thinking you can overpower it. Beginners can play it, but it’s an intermediate player’s course.
